Authentic and large 1930s bakelite dots buckle in butterscotch bakelite with very dark green inlaid dots. The bakelite has patinated over the years to a deep, rich, beautiful color. This piece measures 2-11/16 inches wide X 2-1/2 inches high. The metal bar in the middle is brass. It may originally have had a tongue on it, I am not sure, but it seems this buckle was used for a sash and the tongue may have been removed. It would be very easy to replace it with one from another old belt if you want to use it that way. This is how it came to us and we are selling it As Found. Attached to the bar is a very old cardboard price tag with a price of $225 for the set. This piece is in beautiful estate condition with just very tiny micro-fleabite edgewear that are so tiny you can only see them on close inspection- just the normal edgewear over time on any buckle. There are no cracks, chips, hairlines, or other damage. Beautiful old piece. Please be sure before bidding, since bids are binding and our items are not returnable.
