Both pendant and chain are made of sterling silver. Pendant is from 1800's . Chain is near to antique (deco era) and not as old as pendant. Pendant has beautiful oval shaped natural coober pedy (Australian) opal of very excellent quality. Opal is 6 mm by 5 mm in size. Opal has excellent fire colour play of green, blue, and bright rose pink. Pendant is hand hammered. It's solid and very heavy. Measures: alittle over 3 1/3 inches long, 1  1/8 inches wide, and up to nearly 1/3 inch deep. Chain is a solid tight rope design and not something common in it's well integrated design. It's heavy and strong for it's width. Chain measures: 18 1/8 inches long. Chain rope width is 1.2 mm by 1.2 mm. Pendant necklace is heavy. Weighs: 19 grams. Pendant came from our Victorian era jewelry collection. Pendant necklace is in excellent vintage condition. Would make a beautiful gift.
