Description unclestumpysattic Store ANTIQUE RARE LALIQUE ART GLASS BEAD NECKLACE! Beautiful and very old art glass necklace. I was told by a local dealer that the frosted and clear glass beads on this necklace were early Lalique. It is my understanding some of Laliques early works were jewelry. This necklace is unsigned but extremely heavy and well made. It measures 34" long and weighs in at 7.30 ozs, almost 1/2 a pound. It has a screw-type clasp that does have some writing on it but I can't make it out and it was impossible to photograph. The beading is green, clear, black & clear and amethyst & clear. When wearing it the clasp is off to one side. I was also told that this is correct due to weight distribution so the clasp would not put stress or rub on the wearers spine. The glass beads on this necklace are also seperated by marcacite rings. The beads themselves are strung on a heavy chain or wire. It may be sterling but I haven't found anything to indicate that it is.  I believe that it is from the late 1800's to very early 1900's. It is in excellent overall condition. I could only find one very small flea bite in one of the long square beads. Other than that it is damage free. I was also told that this necklace would appraise in the low 5 figure range.
